Who are we?

Welcome to Zion's Women of Wisdom blog!

Our name comes from Proverbs 3:13-15
"Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her."

Women of Wisdom exists to encourage, equip, and develop every woman in our community to realize her potential as a woman and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.

Our purpose is to build relationships among us for growth in our Christian womanhood, including new comers, established, and inter-generational.

Do You Feel Like Your Home Is Nothing But A Haven? - Women Living Well Blog

A lady recently told me she forced herself to get rid of some items that were important to her because the show Horders scared her to death.  I think we all struggle with making our home a haven for us and our family.  Check out this great article about how to do that!

5 Frugal Ways to Enjoy Spring - Keep the Kingdom First

In the next couple of weeks I'm going to be planning our summer calendar.  With three kids at home I want to plan a family day each week where as a family we do 'something'.  With DelGrossos, Lakemont, Knobels, it can get expensive.  Check out this article about 5 frugal ideas so try.

Family Finances: Modeling Stewardship

One of my favorite blogs is Keeping The Kingdom First.  She blogs on being frugal family.

Check out this GREAT article about how to model stewardship to your kiddos.  Plus it is an awesome way to change the way you spend!

Notes from Preparing for the Unknown Meeting: Creating a Will/Trust

We invited Rose Kauffman from DMJK Law  to talk to us about how to write a will.  Here some highlights:

  • The cost of writing a will is around $150 to $200 per will.  To revise it, it runs about $50 (this is Rose's rates).
  • You should revise your will when a major family happens: birth/adoption, death, divorce
  • You might think you don't have assets/money to pass on to your children, but the cause of your death can be a big payout (killed by drunk driver on the job, etc).
  • Find two people to list as guardian for your children (list as first and second)
    • You may list your sister only (and not her husband) as if she passes, the Will will not give your children to her husband, but to the 2nd person you list in the Will
  • Along with a guardian, list a executor in you Will - a person who will take care of your estate (financial).
  • Wills & Trust don't expire.
  • You only have one original but you can make copies for family/friend
Handouts with a lot more information will be available at future MOPS meetings.

I highly suggest see Rose Kauffman for this!  A Will is nothing to attempt on your own - go professional!
